Cargo status monitoring and determining cargo location during transportation is an important task because statistics indicate that cargo loss in Russia is fraught with problems. In this work, an electronic device is proposed capable of recording cargo location in real time. Analogues of the proposed solution are considered. An electronic system based on inertial MEMS, an information processing unit, integrated with various satellite navigation systems such as GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, has been developed and manufactured. It was shown that the proposed electronic system allows determining object location in space, measuring external mechanical effects on the object and transmitting them via a GSM channel. The device operates in the temperature range from -55 to +60 °C and is intended for wide use in transport and for monitoring the condition of various cargoes. A prototype was created that autonomously transmits cargo indicators, such as location, acceleration, presence of opening, external and cargo temperature, and is capable of external sensors connection. An analysis of existing solutions on the market and of the developed product’s place among them was carried out. Tests have been carried out to prove the functionality of the product.
